The Ultimate Driver’s Pilgrimage – August ’26 
The Nürburgring, the mighty, mystical Nordschleife, described as the ‘Green Hell’ by Jackie Stewart himself. This is the Nirvana for all true petrol heads. One cannot call themselves a true petrol head until either: A) they’ve owned an Alfa, or B) if they have a set of balls, they’ve been to the Nürburgring.
And I’m not talking about the Ring GP track—yes, it is a Formula 1 racetrack—I’m talking about the 21 km Nordschleife, the northern loop that separates men from boys, real racers from track day enthusiasts. This track tests man and machine; there is a reason why all the top vehicles around the world are tested and developed on the Nürburgring.
This is a pilgrimage that you absolutely have to do, not once in your life, but many times, to really, really get the sense of what real driving is. Just to give you an idea of how long this track is: if you left the V&A Waterfront and drove all the way along Mouille Point, went up through Bantry Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay, past the 12 Apostles, down into Hout Bay, over Constantia Nek, through Rhodes Drive, back onto the M3 highway and all the way back to the Waterfront absolutely flat out—that is your first lap of the Ring.
That is how long one lap is. It passes through villages, towns, and farms. The scale of this place is unreal. You have never seen the automotive world come together to showcase the marvel of what motoring is.
Now, if you think that’s all, don’t forget just one hour and 15 minutes away is the second-best racetrack in the world: Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. This is where the best Formula 1 races take place, where the best GT3 races take place, and it has arguably the best corner in the racing world, Eau Rouge—the corner that separates men from boys. Again, can you take it flat out? The simple answer is no. But you can go there and drive it.
We will be driving both the Nürburgring and Spa in the beginning of August. It is the ultimate petrolhead’s dream trip. There are various rental vehicles available and, through our contacts locally based there, we have exclusive access to the racetracks, the drivers, the vehicles, and experiences like none other. The European Apex: A Motorsport Odyssey
Three Nations. Three Iconic Circuits. One Ultimate Standard.
The Cape Route Rally recently completed its most ambitious crossing to date, a multi-border high-performance tour through the heart of European motorsport heritage. From the “Green Hell” of Germany to the seaside dunes of the Netherlands, we didn’t just visit the history of racing – we drove it.
The Nürburgring: Mastering the Green Hell
The journey ignited at the world-famous Nürburgring Nordschleife. In partnership with RSR Nürburgring, our convoy tackled the 21km northern loop. This was a masterclass in high-speed commitment and mechanical sympathy. Feeling the compression through the Foxhole and the raw speed of the Döttinger Höhe wasn’t just a moment—it was a driver’s validation.
Spa-Francorchamps: The Belgian Cathedral
From the Eifel forests, we moved to Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps. Known as the greatest driver’s circuit on the planet, Spa demanded everything from our group. Attacking the legendary Eau Rouge and the Raidillon climb provided the ultimate adrenaline hit, proving that the CRR spirit is just as potent on a GP circuit as it is on a mountain pass.
The Museums: A Pilgrimage to the Source
Precision driving requires an appreciation for the engineering that makes it possible. We took a deep dive into the DNA of the machine with private tours of the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz museums in Stuttgart. Standing among the cars that defined the 20th century provided the necessary context for the performance we’ve been chasing on the track.
Zandvoort: The North Sea Finale
We wrapped up the mission in the Netherlands at the Zandvoort F1 Circuit. This seaside raceway is a masterpiece of banking and technical flow. Spending the final day unleashing speed against the backdrop of the North Sea dunes was the perfect conclusion to a tour defined by History, Culture, and Unfiltered Adrenaline.
