It is now your turn to experience the African dream. We are organising the road trip of your life – an epic adventure round trip from Cape Town to the coastal town of Knysna and back. 2000 kilometres of beautiful tar roads, gravel roads, sand dunes, game drives, 4×4’ing, boats, animals and of course, the world-famous Cape Wines.
The events start in the mother city, Cape Town. 7 days of adventure on some of the best roads the Western Cape South Africa has to offer. 6 Evenings of fun with your friends in places like Franschoek wine valley, Game Reserves amongst the animals and stars, Knysna Waterfront by boat, Hermanus coastline amongst the whales and Cape Town city below Table Mountain. And – at least 25 serious items to check off your life’s bucket list, Lions included!
Day 1 – Arrival in Cape Town
The group arrives in Cape Town where we collect our cars. That evening we have our introduction dinner to get acquainted for what lies ahead.
Day 2 – Cape Town Peninsula
Welcome to Cape Town. Awaiting us at the hotel are our cars. We kick off the first day with the Cape Peninsula trip where we drive around the tip of the African coast – an absolute must for anyone visiting South Africa. Bucket list items: Penguins at Boulders Beach, Beautiful Coast roads, Cape Point, Chapmans Peak Drive, Table Mountain by Cable Car, Camps Bay cocktails.
Day 3 – Drive from Cape Town to Franschoek with 4×4 Dunes in-between
After breakfast at the hotel we all drive to the Atlantis Dunes, where we will get to play in the dunes with our 4×4’s accompanied by guides to show us the way and how best to tackle this unique terrain. Its usually a very hot place Bucket list items: Desert Dune driving, world class Craft Brewery, Motor Museum of highest standards, Franschoek wines.
Day 4 – Franschoek to Sanbona Game Reserve
After breakfast at the hotel we make our way to Sanbona Game Reserve where we check into our luxury tented camps. Afterwards we depart on an epic game drive where you will traverse this wild landscape with a qualified ranger in a comfortable open Land Cruiser. During the drive, numerous species of plants, animals, big game and birds can be seen. This is Africa! The evening is filled with star gazing which is magnificent from the little Karoo where no light pollution as typical of cities opens your world view to the wonder of the stars! Bucket list items: Karoo landscape, Game farm, Game Animals, stunning flora, star gazing, luxury camping at its best, AFRICA!
Day 5 – Sanbona Game Reserve to the Knysna Heads Lagoon
Open your doors and smell the freshness of nature…that crisp air that goes on for miles uninterrupted. This is nature, this is zen! Today we make our way to the picturesque town of Knysna which is based on a tidal lagoon famous for all the right reasons. We check into the waterfront hotel, park the cars and take time off to explore. In the evening we have a special dinner planned….on a vintage paddle restaurant boat where we will enjoy the sunset and have ourselves a party! Bucket list items: Mountain Passes to Knysna, Klein Karoo landscapes, Knysna Town, dinner on a boat.
Day 6 – Drive from Knysna to the Whale town of Hermanus
Easy to start to morning. Time to relax, shop, unwind with the waterfront views before we make a move back in the direction of Cape Town. We take the scenic route to Hermanus…it’s the long way there, but worth every mile of scenery. We pull into Hermanus with enough time to enjoy the little seaside town from the cliffs. Our Hotel, the Marine is conveniently centrally situated so we can walk to our restaurant for dinner. Bucket list items: Garden Route scenic drive, Hermanus town, whale sightings
Day 7 – Drive from Hermanus back to Cape Town
After a relaxing late morning start, we head back to the mother city, Cape Town where something special is planned for us for the last night! Bucket list items: Epic coastal roads towards our Cape Town Party surprise!
